You will learn an updated version of the rewind technique that has been refined in line with modern understandings of how the brain works, particularly through the lens of prediction error
-
You will learn how responses are generated, maintained and ultimately changed, so that you are not simply applying a technique, but are able to guide the process in a way that creates the conditions for change to occur.
-
You will learn to help clients rapidly reduce or eliminate responses associated with traumatic memories, phobias, panic and other anxiety related conditions, often without the need for prolonged exposure or repeated retelling of distressing events
-
You will also learn how to work with clients who do not respond to the standard version of the technique, including those who struggle to visualise, those who remain emotionally connected despite attempts to dissociate, and those whose difficulties are not linked to a single identifiable event but rather a series of experiences that have built up over time.
-
As a result of learning and applying this updated method, you will be able to work with greater confidence, knowing not only what to do, but why you are doing it, which in turn allows you to be more flexible, more precise and ultimately more effective in your work with clients.
